What happened to these combatants? Why have we not seen more evidence of a space-faring race as old as this debris suggests? And so close to our own homeworld, cosmically speaking! Perhaps, with time, we will learn more about whomever inhabited this part of the cosmos before our arrival. But what knowledge we gain only brings more questions. We gain +50 Research towards our construction knowledge. And, while most of the debris has been thoroughly eroded by cosmic radiation and picked clean by junkers, there is still some value to be found here. Unfortunately we can learn very little about the nature of the combatants as the debris appears to be many thousands of years old. Our scientists have concluded that this cloud of debris marks the site of some ancient massive battle. With their infestation cleared, we are able to scan the interior of the junk field for useful data. Junkfield Cleared- Upon clearing the "Junk Field" event this will end the event chain.Īs we suspected, the Junk Field was home to a band of hostile pirates. The only way to get a good scan of this field would be to send a combat fleet in to investigate. which makes it the perfect place to hide for those who would rather not be found. The density of the field restricts our ability to scan it from the outside. This debris field appears to be the assorted wreckage of an ancient battlefield. Junk Field- At some point one of the pirate fleets raiding the player system will drop the coordinates for a debris field, upon arrival at eh marked location this event triggers.Regardless, this is a lucky find for us that will increase our understanding of energy and physics by 100 Research Points each.

It has a high velocity relative to the stars in our galaxy, leading scientists to speculate upon its possible extra-galactic origins. This comet is a rare find indeed, although it is not technically a comet, but a very miniature star with a self-sustaining fusion reaction that wreaths it in flame.

Upon visiting it, you get 3 choices: 1] pay 350 BC to buy the crystal and return it to the faction, which rewards you with 250 BC and +tolerance/approval, 2} buy the crystal for 350 BC and keep it for yourself, which gives +75 RP to Physics and Energy trees and -tolerance/approval with the faction, 3} take the crystal by force if you have infantry with your fleet it is comparable in difficulty to assaulting the pirate base in the Pirate Incursion event. A data crystal has been stolen from a faction.

Criminal Rendezvous- some time after contact with another faction, you may get this anomaly, which only lasts 25 turns.A Wormhole Suddenly Appears!- Not to be confused with the event "A Massive Subspace Anomaly" this event is entirely separate.A Mysterious Asteroid- This event can be found randomly on the strategy map.
